Know Your REALTOR®: Austin Arvay

Why did you choose to become a REALTOR®?

I chose to become a REALTOR® just because, you know, I love meeting and working with new people every day. Each day is a unique challenge; there’s always something new and it’s never the same thing twice.

I really love that it’s a career that you can be as successful as you want to be. It’s a matter of how hard you’re willing to work!

Why CENTURY 21?

I chose to work with Century 21 just because it’s such a recognizable brand name all over the World. People think Century 21—it’s so synonymous with real estate. But, more specifically, Century 21 Fusion; all the agents that work here, all the staff here are so great that once I met everyone, I just knew this is where I wanted to be.

What is your favourite part about being a REALTOR®?

My favourite thing about being a REALTOR® is working with buyers and helping them find the perfect home. It’s the one they know they want, and they can’t really explain it, but when they walk in, they know it’s the place they want to call home. And delivering that phone call when their offer’s accepted and letting them know that they got it—hearing that joy and happiness on the other end of the phone—never ceases to put a smile on my face!

What is something that you think every buyer should know before getting into real estate?

I think every buyer should be aware of the whole process from start to finish before jumping into real estate. It can be lengthy, confusing and a little overwhelming at times. But that’s why I’m here, you know? To make it smooth and make you feel as comfortable as possible before jumping in and letting you know every step of the way that I’m here for you, and I’m here to help.

What do you think is the most important change coming for real estate?

I think the biggest change with real estate is how technology, digital marketing and everything like that has changed the landscape of listing and buying. The way we communicate—everything, it’s just so instantaneous!

Tell us a little about yourself.

A little about me, probably the biggest thing to know is I absolutely love sports, any and all kinds. If I’m not working, I’m probably sitting back watching a game somewhere. Whatever game is on, whether it’s hockey, football, baseball, basketball. Doesn’t matter!

I like to spend lots of time with my girlfriend and my dog Zeke as well. In the summertime, I love weekends at the lake, and I really enjoy golfing.

If you could choose 3 words to describe yourself, which would you choose?

I have to go with passionate, professional and personable. I love getting to know people before working with them, and I’m pretty easy to get along with. I like to see myself as a professional all the time, whether that’s working with clients or with anyone else in the industry. And I’m really passionate about Real Estate and who I am working with, and I really want to get the job done whether you’re a buyer or a seller.

What inspires you?

What inspires me would have to be my family, my friends and, probably most importantly, my girlfriend. I bounced around a couple jobs before settling into real estate, and, you know, my friends, family and Nicole, my girlfriend, were in my corner 100% of the time over the last few years. So, I just want to work as hard as I can, be successful and make them proud.

Why do you love Saskatoon?

I love Saskatoon because I was born and raised here. There’s so much to offer in this city! It’s so diverse, with brand new neighbourhoods jumping up all over the place. You have so much old, characteristic, historic houses downtown. Or, you can live in a high-rise overlooking the river. There’s just so much to offer in such a beautiful city and Saskatoon summers are pretty hard to beat, too.

If you could give any seller one piece of advice, what would it be?

My advice to sellers, my one biggest piece, would be to go on a nice big purge before you’re ready to sell! De-cluttering and cleaning your home is probably one of the most important things, I think, to get your house ready to sell. So, anything you don’t need, get rid of it!

Is there anything else that you think people should know about you when considering whether or not to work with you?

People should know that I’m willing to give as much time and energy as required to make sure we get the job done. You might get some texts at some weird hours from me because I just found a particular place I think you’ll absolutely love.

Whether you’re a buyer or a seller, I am going to give you my all, and we’re going to get it done!
